Duke of Edinburgh

We are delighted to be an award leader for the Duke of Edinburgh program.

Participating in the Award program is an exciting journey for young disabled people and their whanau/families. We believe it is a great opportunity for you to learn a new skill or further develop an existing skill.

Voluntary Service – young people to spend one hour per week doing voluntary work.

Physical Recreation – young people spend one hour per week engaging in physical recreation.

Skills – young people spend approximately one hour per week learning a skill

Adventurous Journey – this involves completing an expedition or exploration for a set number of days.

The Award recognises the young person and their efforts, celebrates their achievements and is a great platform to work alongside their peers also completing the Award. It is open to all 14-24 year olds regardless of their background, culture, physical ability, skills and interests and is considered the world’s leading youth achievement Award
